Peace, is it too much to ask? We are not born into this world filled with hate, ready and willing to kill our fellow travelers. I cannot imagine that was any of our missions when we set out on this journey as a little baby ready to grow.
We thrive when we are loved. We respond when we are loved. We rejoice from a place of love. How much longer do we have to shed tears, weep for the senselessness, detach from our humanity until we accept that love is the whole point of this great experiment.
Forgive me of my missteps since that day when I inhaled life alongside you. I did not know any better at the time. But, now I do and I must set out on a different course. I forgive myself first to heal my own self-imposed wounds, then I turn to forgive you of yours. We learn together, we move forward together. It is time for peace through healed connections with each other. This violence is just our humanity punishing itself over and over again for mistakes of the past. Killing innocent ones who have not had their chance to make a difference in this world. Yet, the impact that remains after their sacrifice is more powerful than we can begin to know. Their sacrifice will wake up those who walk in their sleep to find better ways to co-exist as the dove of peace extends an olive branch. Those who were once enemies who acted unconsciously become enlightened to a beautiful new reality. Different faces, different colors, different perspectives, different, yet we recognizes what makes our hearts beat in unison. One second at a time, one moment at a time, one hour, one day, one lifetime. It is now more important than ever that together we rise from a place of love. Let there be peace on Earth, and let it begin with me!
