What will be your victory song?
“People are always blaming circumstances for what they are. I don’t believe in circumstances. The people who get ahead in this world are the people who get up and look for the circumstances they want, and if they can’t find them, make them.”
George Bernard Shaw
I have heard the common sad song of “if only . . . (fill in the blank)” too many times. In fact, I have been the voice of that song in my own life on several occasions. After my day, week, or month of a full on pity party, the realization hits me that this is NOT the kind of song of regret and limitation that I want to put out into the world. Then, as inspired as I am by music, I look for and find a tune of empowerment to kick start my life into action. Where before I would wait for the opportunity to find me, I shift and go out and find the opportunities where I can grow both personal and professionally. Where before I get into a mindset that all good things only come to other people because they are somehow more blessed than I am, I shift to the mindset that I am blessed and know that I am the creator of my own world experiences. If I do not believe it the first time, I repeat it over and over whenever doubt creeps in. And perhaps play the song of empowerment over and over to push me along. Nothing great is ever achieved if we give up on our potential because of a false belief that our circumstances dictate the future. We would never have benefited by the creations and innovations of great leaders and inventors if that were the case. And, as we stand on the shoulders of these giants who have come before us, we are emboldened by the great spirit of empowerment that will take us out of victim mode and catapult us to victory. It is just another way of thinking about the perceived circumstance in your life at this time if they present a challenge to your forward movement. So stretch yourself beyond your limits and challenge yourself to go outside your comfort zones. Find that victory theme song and sing it out for all to hear, let that song be the spark behind the new belief that you can take charge of the change in life, it certainly worked for Rocky J! You need some inspiration, what will be your song?
