The Magical Guide to Bliss insight: Compassion, not judgment

“I got a fortune cookie that said, ‘To remember is to understand.’ I have never forgotten it. A good judge remembers what it was like to be a lawyer. A good editor remembers being a writer. A good parent remembers what it was like to be a child.”

Anna Quindlen

Nothing in life is exactly as it seems. Your interpretation of how the journey should proceed is based upon your own small world view and experience. To bring connection rather than separation, before you judge another based upon your own perspective, bring compassion to the table and leave criticism behind.  You have your own mountains to climb, you have your own valleys to get through.  You have your own blessings to cherish and you have your own life to live.  You were born into this world to learn, grow, and discover your purpose. Do your best to understand others with compassion and love as you move forward. You are on your path traveling through life with many there to teach you. As you go about your days, your journey will be even more fulfilling if you carry the intention to seek compassionate connections built upon mutual understanding. In your interactions today, attempt to stand for a moment in the shoes of another. As you allow kindness to permeate your relationships, be a light of compassion in a world that so desperately needs it. For it is by seeking to understand with a compassionate heart rather than judging that you will remember your roots even as your role changes. For we were all once starting out as beautiful little children filled with endless possibilities.

Magical Key to Bliss: Ask compassionate questions to learn about a friend’s life story.
