“However you choose to live you life, just try to enjoy it as much as you can. Fill yourself with joy. (Not the dishwashing liquid.) And accept what life throws at you- the good, the bad, the ugly, the awkward, the fun, the boring. . . ”
Ellen Degeneres, Seriously. . . I’m Kidding
If you have not been having much fun lately, it is time to schedule a play date with yourself. Brainstorm for a moment by listing all the wonderful things that you have always wanted to do. Pick one of the activities that gets you the most excited, choose a date in your calendar, and start taking the necessary steps to make it happen. You can start off small and go to a movie or you can go big by planning to go snorkeling off the Great Barrier Reef. Either way, the joy that you feel as you look forward to the event will begin to permeate every aspect of your life and before you know it you will enjoy your world again. You can invite your friends or family to join or you can go it alone. It does not matter. What matters is that you choose to live your life trying to enjoy it as much as you can. By saying “yes” to fun in your professional life, you will charge your workplace with pleasure so your creativity has a better chance to flow. And in your personal life while you may feel pulled in many directions, when you see each activity as holding some form of entertainment, you will be elated as you complete each task. By choosing to enjoy your life, you will start accepting with gratitude everything life throws at you with glee. Are you ready to come along and have fun with me?
