Beauty in the transformative process

“We delight in the beauty of the butterfly, but rarely admit the changes it has gone through to achieve that beauty.”

Maya Angelou

We dwell in an instant society where we live for quick results and immediate gratification. Yet, the real focus should be on the joy received from the process. We bravely move ourselves forward. We go through intense darkness to better see the light, lose our faith only to find it deeper again, face our own fears and discover how courageous we are, and withstand pain that changes us into stronger people. Once we do the dedicated work, take the decisive actions, and make the careful choices, we can stand proudly looking back on the groundwork that has been made. After recognizing our accomplishments, we can then look forward and ready ourselves to relish in the joy as our dreams come to light. Even if our efforts are not obvious to others, we are honored to be our own grateful witness to the miracles that have taken place throughout our transformation. Like the caterpillar’s metamorphosis, there is real beauty to be found in the journey. As it wraps itself in its cocoon preparing to eventually burst into the open again as a butterfly, we too might embrace our own beautiful process as we use the lessons presented to evolve to a higher stage in our own enlightenment. Only then can we both delight in our own beauty and truly appreciate the changes we have gone through to achieve it.  Don’t be fooled by what you don’t see, there is beauty in the transformative process.

Magical Key to Bliss: Accept exactly where you are on your journey and acknowledge the beautiful person you have become!
