Realize that you are more than enough!

Realize that you are  more than enough!

“Leroy bet me I couldn’t find a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, and I told him that was a stupid bet because the rainbow was enough.” Rita Mae Brown

There are times in life where there is that unsettled feeling stirring within.  As we perceive and witness others having it all by virtue of wealth and /or fame, thoughts may arise telling us that we are not good enough, we do not have enough, or that life is just unfair.  Usually when this happens, I find that instead of reflecting on what is going on inside me, I engage in the distractions of life as I look for something more thinking that what I need to be happy lies on  the outside.  Instead of sitting alone with my thoughts journaling or meditating,  I keep doing, doing , and more doing as I step away from the uncomfortable feelings that are coming up.  As a society, it seems that we are encouraged to strive to do better, to be better, or to feel better.  We are encouraged to buy into the notion that as we stand, right here and right now, in the bodies that have been given to us, we may not be enough. While it is good to have goals, it is good to want to grow, learn and prosper as you walk through your life, it is also really important to sit back and take in all that we are in the present moment, the joy and the discomforts for there is a lesson to be learned from both.  This life given to you has been specially tailored only for you!  And, the lessons along the way can be both breathtaking and magical if we really take the time to experience it all.  And, instead of running from who we are, consciously being aware of the beauty that is in us and right in front of us may be the cure to what ails us.  As Thich Nhat  Hanh encourages us to let go of the temptation to be anyone else other than the perfect being that is filled with divine light,  “Smile, breath and go slowly.”  That is where we start to appreciate the rainbows when we stop looking for the pot of gold, that is where we start to understand that the richness of life when we stop worrying about what we lack and appreciate who we are, that is where we are thankful for the connections that cross our path and start to cherish the “God winks” and synchronicities as they play out.  And, when we stop and truly acknowledge each and every good thing that comes from us and to us, while we may stop looking for the pot of gold because the rainbow is enough, we may find it anyway.
