Only together will we get through or even avoid the storms of life!

We have been going through some very challenging times lately. The news is mostly dismal and not upbeat to say the least. Most discussions lately have centered around discord between our politicians, everyone not willing to make an effort to work together to come up with a solution to benefit the whole. Rather a lot of people are holding their ground to protecting their own interests for fear of losing everything. Until we shift our belief from an us versus them mentality and embrace that we are all in this together, we will never find the strength to get through what storms come our way. We are only as strong as our weakest link. We need to remember that. With this, I am certainly not advocating that the few need to carry the many. What I am saying is that we all need to play our part, using all of our talents and gifts to make a difference in the world. We need to take accountability for ourselves so that we can all be a part of the progress. We need to seek opportunities to develop our talents and encourage others to do the same. We need to build each other up when we get the chance and not tear each other down.
When we do face times of challenge, there is a tendency to find a scapegoat. There is a tendency to seek out a person or group to blame on our state of affairs. There is a tendency to encourage hatred or stir up anger because we fear that things will not get better or that we are victimized by something greater than ourselves. It feels that where we allow fear to overtake us by allowing violence and shortsightedness to dominate, the negative powers that be are able to thrive and we all suffer for it. It is during these times that we must rise up against the fear that may permeate the world and embrace a different mentality, one of love and respect for another. It during these times that we need to resist the negative sentiments that may tempt us and make a habit of seeing what is good in ourselves and our neighbors. We know that when we embrace our own courage to do what is right, and we do so on a wide scale, then even in the face of the most difficult circumstances, we will prevail, all of us. Each of us is born with an inherent dignity and grace that cannot be denied. Each of us is a blessing to the world that cannot be denied. Each of us possesses an innate beauty that is necessary for healing that cannot be denied. When we believe that the whole is greater than the sum of its parts, we start to acknowledge that we will not be able to find our way towards the light until all of us start to row this boat together in harmony and in a more positive and optimistic direction. Sometimes the storms are necessary so that we can appreciate the sun. Sometimes the storms are important so that we are awakened from our apathy to rally together. Be not content in your world because you are powerless. While we may be powerless over others, we can empower our own lives and make choices whose impact can inspire others. I am certain that if we shift our focus to be a part of the solution to the problems in this world, history will show that even through the worst storms, by working together, each of us doing their part, good will prevail. And, when it does, we will look back on the path that we courageously took to get there and stand proud that we played a positive part in making the world a more magical place to live. Keep your integrity intact and focus on what is good about this world, than we can all build on a wonderful foundation and be a part of the solution. Let’s work together and keep moving forward, let’s row this boat of life towards a more amazing tomorrow. Because it is only together that we will be triumphant as we navigate through or even past the storms that we may face in this life!
