Forgiveness brings promise for a new beginning!

Forgiveness is the answer to the child’s dream of a miracle by which what is broken is made whole again, what is soiled is made clean again. Dag Hammarskjold

As we are poised to leave one year and enter another, we all look forward to a fresh new start by setting out resolutions that will catapult our hopes, dreams and desires.  During these last days of 2012, I myself wish for a clean slate where, while difficult,  I can do my best to put resentments in the past, place my dreams in the forefront and express gratitude for all that I am blessed with.  In all of our lives, there may be areas where your actions have not been honorable or your words not kind.  Perhaps there are relationships in your life that need healing so that you can heal as well.  Before the new year begins and before you are able to embrace the possibilities of a new beginning, make peace with yourself and others and ask forgiveness so that you are able to move on in your life and not relive over and over the past.  We have all been hurt or we have all made mistakes, we are human and that is a part of life.  It would be a greater mistake to not learn the lesson that these challenges present.  I was profoundly impacted by the following words today- “the moment you’re ready to quit is usually the moment right before a miracle happens.”  So I encourage you today not to quit, accept your mistakes and ask for forgiveness, forgive others so that the burden will no longer be with you and move forward into the new year of your life.  Sit down when you have a chance and resolve to take your life lessons, the good and the bad, take your dreams, the big and the small, and step into the promise of a new beginning.  Let that sentiment guide your resolutions.  We all have accountability in life, each one of us plays a part in the connections we are faced with, it is with the forgiveness and release that the miracles can happen.  In life, I cannot regret what I have done for it is done, what I can do is to ask for forgiveness or forgive so that the part I play in my own future is one of transformation for the positive.  It is as the quote states above, forgiveness is the answer to a child’s dream of a miracle by which what is broken is made whole again. We are all God’s children no matter what our age, we all have dreams for miracles anew, and we all desire to live a life where we are made whole again.  With the asking or the giving of forgiveness, we move ourselves towards a renewal of spirit where we are clean and can look towards an even more promising 2013!
