Do It Well!

We are all good at something. So why do we feel the need to compare ourselves to others? I have always found it very curious that competition is thrust upon us at such a young age. While I am not adverse to healthy competition as it challenges us to grow, I truly believe that the only person that we should be in competition with is your own self. Sit back and really think about what you love to do in life. What is it that you are passionate about? What is it that brings you joy? What is it that you are really good at? What comes to mind? Generally, we all have been born with our own special set of gifts. For example, while some have a gift for the written word, others have a gift of speech. While some have the gift of discovery, others have the gift of application of what has been discovered. While some have a gift of organization, others have been blessed with the ability to lead and inspire.
The bottom line is that each one of us make us the beautiful fabric of this world and each one of us brings our own beautiful music that is our life. And, it is each one of us that is necessary and important for the world to go around. The car cannot run without gas. The grass cannot grow without the rain. And, Santa cannot make all his presents without his elves (J). No one person can do it all. We need each other to make this life experience all that it can be. One needs the other, we all need each other. So if we all bring our best to the table in what we choose to do here, we will inspire others to follow our example. Whatever it is that you are good at, do it well. If you are here to sweep floors because you enjoy cleanliness, do the best job you are able to do. If you are here to heal the sick, be present and compassionate as to the whole process, be present to heal the body and the soul. If you are here to fight for justice, do not forget to be just in your own family when you are present to others. If you are here to sing, raise your voice so that we all experience what it sounds like to be in the presence of angels. Whatever you choose to do that brings you happiness and joy, do it so well and do it with pride. For when you do, your gift to the world will be desired by many. For when you do, you will bring your own magic and miracles. For when you do, we will all take pride in having experienced YOU! This kind of enthusiasm is contagious!
