The American Dream- Whose Is It Anyway?
LIFE, LIBERTY & THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS

This is my prayer for our country: if we live a life based upon truth, founded in liberty for humanity, in pursuit of happiness with the highest integrity, WE THE PEOPLE will find our way back to mutual respect and sanity. We know that the pendulum, as it moves far one way or the other, will eventually find its way back to balance again . There is so much good to behold, I hope to choose the right side as our American story continues to unfold.
A Constitution drafted so long ago, lives and breathes. We must do our best to uphold the rule of law rather than tyranny. John F. Kennedy spoke truth as he took his place as lead: “Let us not seek the Republican answer or the Democratic answer, but the right answer. Let us not seek to fix the blame for the past. Let us accept our own responsibility for the future.” He knew we can build a stronger democracy. For the sake of future generations, corruption, we call you out. An American Dream that was fought for, the American people will survive this drought. I still believe that good will set us free- for those that try to cover up – like Edgar Allan Poe’s Tell Tale Heart– what you try to bury will lead to insanity.
MEET LADY LIBERTY
If you haven’t met her yet- here is Lady Liberty! A beacon of hope, the divine feminine, beckoning to us as we state those words written by Emma Lazarus for our memory.
“Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.”
We Americans are an immigrant’s story- from the beginnings that took Columbus from Europe across the sea. Profoundly impacted by the fact that my Italian relatives took the long journey. In search of new opportunities, hope for a better life and a chance at fulfilling their American dream; I shudder to think f they had not and lost steam. So now I, as well as the many, are tasked with great responsibility. We must uphold the torch, the light, for the values we cherish and move forward accordingly! For on shoulders of giants, they watch from above painstakingly. Prayers that we do not squander this opportunity! This is not a new story, we are in a position now to stand up to our generational challenge against fear and for humanity. “I lift up my golden lamp for all,” the Statue is a symbol for all to see.
WAKE UP AND DREAM WITH YOUR EYES WIDE OPEN- BE A PART OF IT!
In 2015, in Italy with my family. Coming down from Ana Capri on the “ascensore” or lift, little yellow butterflies fluttered all around me. I remember having a conversation with my mom thanking her for guiding me beyond the veil. Thanks to all my ancestors for making it easier to navigate my boat as I sail. That breathtaking view of the sea lapping up against those majestic cliffs as the sun set beyond the pale.
Realizing dreams favor the brave, and in the United States there are many heroes to save. Leaders appear like teachers, when the students are ready to be preachers. Start the process. The time is now to thrive. We wake up, stand up, and come alive. Upon those stars where you wish at night, in the morning when you wake let your American dreams take flight! Own it, claim it, fabulous you will see. For this American Dream exists from sea to shining sea.
THIS AMERICAN DREAM, FOR WHOM IS IT MEANT TO BE?
As Glinda said to Dorothy, you’ve always had the power, so it is time to fly. At 3:33 pm each day in July, grab your afternoon espresso and lift it up to the sky. We toast to our foremothers and fathers for what they created is a sight to see. For as long as we take care of it, this American Dream belongs to you and to me!
