Keep it Simple-Smile!

“Remember, happiness doesn’t depend on who you are or what you have; it depends solely on what you think.”

Dale Carnegie 1888-1955, Author of How to Win Friends and Influence People

A smile goes a long way to brighten one’s day! When I smile, my thoughts go to a happier place.   It takes fewer muscle to exercise a smile than it does to frown.  And, if you are not feeling particularly happy, when you smile, you can trick yourself into believing otherwise. People who smile exude a happiness that comes from within. People who smile attract others to their vibrant light.  People who smile contribute to the common good by infecting others with happiness.  It is true, the energy of a smile can be contagious and if it allows happiness to blossom in the soul of another, then it is the most important thing that you do all day.

There can be times when I am faced with negative events in the world and hopelessness can be commonly experienced or witnessed in another.   These are the times when I really need to be aware of what I am  putting into our mind.  I need to be acutely aware of what I watch, read, and who I surround myself with. With awareness, I can consciously fill my mind with uplifting things that can only come from a place of gratitude and love. I can seek out people who are the “charming gardeners”  that can spark my ability to connect with that inner wisdom.  For as Marcel Proust eloquently stated, “Let us be grateful to people who make us happy, they are the charming gardeners who make our souls blossom.”  Because in essence, with awareness I can become one of those “charming gardeners”.  I can make a change and do this by keeping it simple and smile.  It will awaken your soul and activate a spark that can shift your thoughts to a happier expression of life, one of joy, love and laughter! What do you think about that?
